Message from the Headmaster
As we reach the end of another busy, exciting and productive year, I would like to thank all of those who have contributed to the successes of the past twelve months: parents and guardians for their support, the staff for their hard work and commitment and, above all, our pupils for everything that they have once more contributed to the rich fabric of Mill Hill life. To those who have just finished their public examinations, I extend my very warmest wishes for a successful outcome in August. To those who will be moving on from the School, I bid a fond farewell. To those returning to us in September, meanwhile, I hold out the challenge of making next year even more successful than the one that has passed. Finally, I would like to wish all of you a very happy and relaxing summer.
Jazz night
Jazz Night was an exceptional evening of fine music, company and cocktails! It was a mixture of old, new, borrowed and Blue and the students and staff came together to perform music from the Jazz era. The audience were treated to no less than 30 performances with notable inclusions from Sixth Form students Chad Vigano and Daniella Schindler, and old students Pippa Woodrow and Tom Wright. The night came to a close with a heart felt speech thanking Richard Allain for the 15 years he has given to the School and wishing him the best for his new life in Norwich.
Congratulations to our tennis boys
The Mill Hill Boys ‘A’ team have once again comfortably won their group in the AEGON YEAR 10 Schools Tennis Competition. The team of Henry Goode, Oliver Warren, Peter Karamani and Sebsatian Daly beat Alexandra Park, 5-1 and King Alfred, 6-0 and now go through to the group play off in which they will have to compete against London Oratory. Should they win this round then they will progress into the knock out stages of the competition next term.
Both Henry and Oliver (along with Fourth Formers Max Ephson-Clarke and Eoin Kelly) are also competing next week in the prestigious Independant Schools Tennis Championships at Eton.
Another cricketing achievement
Once again, our young cricketers have not disappointed. Having quashed Highgate on their home turf in an exciting 20 over match on Monday 21 June, they reached the final and played West Thames on Thursday 24 June at Merchant Taylors School in a 40 over per side match.
Mill Hill scored 132 for 9 in the semi final, with Adam Rossington getting 64 runs and Benedict Relf getting 22. Highgate were 97 all out with our key bowler, Nikhil Lalwani taking 4 wickets for just 11 runs. Mill Hill School won by 35 runs.
Unfortunately, West Thames were just too strong for us in the final and we lost by 6 wickets. However, it was a fantastic achievement to reach the final and our congratulations go to both players and coaching staff.
